Hello! I’m Sarah, the writer, photographer, and occasionally-lost main character of thetravelforlife.com.
I’ve been traveling from city to city for 10 years, and I still keep believing the lie that
“this time I’ll pack light.” Spoiler: it’s never happened
.For me, city travel isn’t really about maps—it’s about getting lost. I usually find the best coffee shop on the street where GPS insists “there’s nothing here.” Museums, historical sites, architectural wonders? Of course I love them. But the real happiness comes from chatting with a waiter for 20 minutes at a local restaurant and ordering something without ever quite figuring out what’s actually on the menu.
I started this blog because “my friends kept asking about my trips, so I figured I might as well just write it all down.” Now it’s turned into a full-time passion—sometimes even an obsession. I’ve traveled to so many cities that I’ve developed a habit of checking my passport at airports just to remember which country I’m in.
So what will you find on this blog? Alongside the touristy spots, the things that are truly unique to a place: lesser-known neighborhoods, local flavors, hidden corners that make you go “how did you even find this?”—and of course, plenty of practical tips, because I’ve already made all the mistakes for you, just so you could learn from them.
In short: I love cities, and cities keep inviting me to get a little lost. Join me on this journey—let’s laugh together and plan your next perfect vacation.
